Follow-up dental examination

Examination in children

Depending on the age and caries index of your child, recall visits will be recommended every 6 or 12 months.  These preventive meetings will allow for proper follow-up and will make the child comfortable with the dental environment.

Preventing cavities in children

Regular brushing, a healthy diet and regular dental check-ups help prevent cavities. It is recommended that your child’s teeth be brushed twice a day until he or she has enough dexterity to do it himself or herself. Supervision during brushing should be done until age eight to ensure that all surfaces of the teeth are clean.

Some foods offer an interesting nutritional contribution but tend to stick to the teeth. This is the case of bananas, raisins and fruit puree bars. It is recommended to eat this type of food with meals or to brush immediately after eating.
